About Tumby Bay Yacht Club
Tumby Bay Yacht Club is a dinghy-focused club on the foreshore of Tumby Bay, a sheltered bay on Spencer Gulf on the eastern coast of the Eyre Peninsula. The club runs regular club sailing and sail training and supports social sailing for the local community.
**Programs and activities** - Regular club racing on Saturday afternoons (usually 2pm). - Sail training, including morning training sessions (usually 9am). - A school fleet of Holdfast Trainers, 125s and Pacers, managed for the local school, which gives local students a direct pathway into sailing.
**The setting.** Tumby Bay is a relaxed coastal town about 50 kilometres north of Port Lincoln, known for its long jetty, sandy beach and the islands offshore. The club sails in the protected waters of the bay, with Tumby Island just offshore and the Sir Joseph Banks Group further out in the gulf.
The club's link with the local school makes it a genuine community hub, where young people learn to sail on their doorstep.
