ABOUT YACHT DIRECTORY

A directory built around a dream.

Australia first. Then the Pacific. We’re building the sailing life we want—and sharing the useful things we find along the way.

Saily, Yacht Directory’s smiling sail mascotSAILY’S HERE TO HELP

We’re Gabriel and Kristy, the couple behind Yacht Directory and YouSail.

Our dream is simple. Buy a sailing yacht, move aboard and see where the wind takes us. Australia first. Then the Pacific. Maybe much further.

We’re not there yet. We’re still learning, taking courses, spending time on boats and asking a lot of questions.

Finding our people on the water

Planning a life aboard brings a whole list of questions. Where do we keep the boat? Who makes the sails? Who can help with the rigging, the engine or the next haul-out? Where do we go to learn?

The answers were scattered across business websites, forums and Facebook groups. We wanted an easier way to find the people and services behind a good day on the water. So we started bringing that information together.

That’s Yacht Directory. It’s the Australian marine directory we wanted ourselves, built by two sailors in the making. You can explore marinas, marine trades, sailing schools and other yacht services by category and location.

Learning as we go

We’re not going to pretend we’ve visited every marina or worked with every marine business in Australia. We haven’t. What we can do is organise useful information, make it easier to explore and share what we learn.

Business details and logos come directly from YouSail’s published directory. The people who run those businesses are the best ones to answer questions about their current services, availability and your particular boat.

Alongside the directory, our owner guides help you prepare better questions. Saily, our sail mascot, makes the first steps more welcoming through introductory sailing lessons and a sailing glossary.

Somewhere out there is the yacht that will become our home—and the people who will help us get there.

Come along for the journey

If you run a marina, a marine business or a sailing brand and like what we’re building, we’d love to talk. Email gabriel@yousail.com.au.

See you on the water.

HOW THE DIRECTORY WORKS

Information you can trace to its source

We read published business information directly from YouSail. It is our source for business names, locations, services, contact details, photographs and logos. Our pages refresh regularly so changes can flow through without maintaining a separate business database.

Listings are a starting point for your own enquiries. Confirm suitability, experience, prices and availability with the business. Saily and our editorial illustrations belong to the Yacht Directory experience; they do not depict a particular listed business or its facilities.

How we prepare our guides and lessons

Our guides help owners understand options and prepare useful enquiries. They combine original editorial explanations, clearly labelled illustrative scenarios and links to primary sources such as equipment manufacturers, marine authorities and service operators. A manufacturer’s explanation describes its own products; it does not establish an independent ranking.

We check article structure, internal links, image files and duplicated paragraphs before release. Long guides include comparison tables, practical checklists and answers to common questions. Word count is a minimum for these guides, not a substitute for useful information. A publication date does not certify that every linked source was updated on that date.

Guide artwork is AI-generated or drawn for editorial explanation. It does not document a listed business, a completed customer project or a technically approved installation. Examples are hypothetical unless expressly identified otherwise. The guides do not claim hands-on product testing or professional inspection of your yacht.

Learn to sail with Saily uses short explanations, original illustrated scenes, thinking activities and quizzes with feedback. We check that each question has one clear answer and link to supporting sailing and marine authority resources. The illustrations introduce ideas; your instructor demonstrates the equipment and techniques on your boat. Lesson stars record quiz progress, not a practical qualification.
