About The Navigation Centre
## About The Navigation Centre
The Navigation Centre has traded in Townsville since 1970 and remains a genuinely specialist nautical shop. Its South Townsville counter and online store serve sailors, commercial operators, students and anyone who still values reliable chartwork and authoritative marine publications.
### What You’ll Find
The catalogue includes paper charts for Australian waters and nearby regions, AusENC electronic charts, AMSA publications, tide tables, cruising guides, logbooks and chart-work textbooks. Navigation tools include compasses, dividers and parallel rulers, while flags, code flags, clocks and nautical gifts fill out the range.
### Radio and Study Support
Marine-radio handbooks and study material are available, and the business offers Saturday appointments for radio exams. Hema mapping products also appear alongside specialist marine titles.
### Shopping Practicalities
Buy online or visit during published weekday hours. Some large maps and specialist items are collection-only, and the team invites enquiries because not all stock is listed on the website.
### A Good Place to Look When...
You need an official chart or AMSA publication, are planning a passage, studying for a marine-radio qualification or searching for traditional navigation instruments.
