About AusSea Sailing School
AusSea Sailing School is a keelboat sailing school operating from the Botany Bay Yacht Club at 44 Endeavour Street, Sans Souci, on Kogarah Bay in Sydney's south. Since 2009, instructor Marc van Dinther has taught sailing with a strong focus on safety, and the school is a partner of International Yacht Training Worldwide (IYT).
Courses follow the IYT pathway, starting with a two-hour Try Sail and inshore Levels 1 to 3 on J24 keelboats, then moving to offshore, racing and navigation days aboard Renegade, an S111, and a two-day International Bareboat Skipper course. Lessons run seven days a week in small groups, and a final practical and theory assessment leads to IYT International Bareboat Skipper, ICC and VHF certificates.
The school suits beginners who would rather learn on Botany Bay than on busier Sydney Harbour, and sailors working towards crewing, racing or chartering overseas. Experienced skippers can sit the assessment on its own with proof of sea time. Check session times and what to bring with the school before booking.
## Accreditation - Partner of International Yacht Training Worldwide (IYT) - IYT Levels 1 to 5 lead to the IYT International Crew certificate - The pathway finishes with IYT International Bareboat Skipper, ICC and VHF marine radio certificates
