About Adventure Sailing

Adventure Sailing is a sail and maritime training business based at Port Geographe Marina on Geographe Bay, near Busselton in Western Australia. It is run by Captain Paul Willison and Captain Matt Jones, and also offers private charters and Abrolhos Islands trips aboard the 65-foot ketch Starsand. Its sailing courses lead to International Yacht Training (IYT) certificates, and commercial courses are delivered through a partnership with Maritime Training School (RTO 91487).

Sail training takes place on three- and five-day liveaboard voyages aboard the performance catamaran Queimarla, with up to six crew. Students plan passages, helm, handle sails, navigate and stand watches, working towards the IYT International Crew, International Flotilla Skipper or International Bareboat Skipper certificates, with routes around Geographe Bay, coastal passages to Fremantle and Dongara, and the Abrolhos Islands. There's also a women-only She Sails liveaboard course on Starsand, plus Recreational Skipper's Ticket, marine radio, Coxswain, Master less than 24 metres and Marine Engine Driver courses.

The liveaboard format suits beginners wanting an immersive start, sailors building sea miles towards a skipper qualification and people heading for commercial work. The Flotilla and Bareboat levels need a marine radio certificate and logged sea time, so check entry requirements before booking.
